Herbal Tea Sangria

Sangria, a drink traditionally made with wine, fruit, and juice is a refreshing summer treat-part beverage, part fruit salad. For this sangria, we substituted herbal tea for the juice to give it a more complex flavor and to be able to control the sugar content. To compliment the Spice It Up! Peach Ice Cream herbal tea, we added blueberries, plums, and nectarines. On another occasion, we used Spice It Up! Strawberry Fields herbal tea with apples, raspberries, and lime. The flavor combinations are endless! And at the bottom of each glass? Yummy fruit – does it get better than that?

Instructions
  1. Boil water in a medium sized pot. Add tea and sugar, stirring to dissolve sugar. Allow to come to room temperature. Strain tea leaves. In a large pitcher, add fruit, wine and tea. Refrigerate for at least an hour. To serve, spoon some fruit into a glass, then add ice and sangria.
Recipe Notes

We chose a white wine for summer, but this recipe would be just as delicious with your favorite red wine.

You can also add a splash of seltzer, brandy, or vodka to the pitcher.
