Lemon Garlic Fennel and Sage Grilled Tofu

Tofu practically begs for bold flavors, and Spice It Up! can answer that call. Spice It Up! Lemon, Garlic, Fennel and Sage Rub is so flavorful, you won’t miss the meat in your meal. You can press the tofu before cooking for a more “meat-like” texture, or use an indoor hinged grill to press and grill at the same time, as we did for this recipe. Grilled tofu is so versatile you can use it simply as your protein with vegetables, cubed and added to a salad,  or on a bun in place of grilled chicken breast. Spice It Up! Savory Grilled Tofu

  • 1 14-16 oz carton Extra firm tofu
  • 2 Tbsp Spice It Up! Lemon, Garlic, Fennel and Sage Rub
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Lemon Garlic Fennel and Sage Grilled Tofu
Instructions
  1. Slice tofu into 3 equal slices, approximately 1/2 inch thick each. Brush oil onto both sides of indoor hinged grill, and place slices in single layer on grill. Close lid, being sure to use a small tray to collect the liquid that will be pressed out of the tofu. After 3 minutes, remove slices and sprinkle with Spice It Up! Lemon, Garlic, Fennel and Sage Rub. Brush top and bottom of grill with remaining oil, and replace the tofu slices, giving each a quarter turn from their original position. Grill for another 3 to 4 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Recipe Notes

You can grill tofu on a traditional grill-be sure to press out liquid before grilling.
